Description

Vivianite

Vivianite is Hydrated Iron Phosphate: (Fe2+Fe2+2(PO4)2·8H2O.

Mohs: 1.5-2

Source: Brazil.

Vivianite is best kept out of sunlight as it loses its colour.

Since Roman times, it was known as a pigment, but its use in oil painting was rather limited.

It has been found in Vermeer’s The Procuress in the blue-grey parts of the carpet in the foreground.

This stone is transformative for those who feel ill at ease with their own bodies and are self-conscious.

It is known as the “Stone of patience”, bringing patience and compassion for all carers of the sick, disabled and the elderly.

Chakra: Third eye and Heart
