Palo Santo Sticks (10-12cm) – For Ritual & Room Cleansing
Palo Santo (“holy wood”) is a fragrant wood from a tree native to South America.
Palo Santo is traditionally burned to produce a sweet, woody smoke, primarily for energetic cleansing, which involves clearing negative or stagnant energy from spaces, objects, or people. Its aroma is also often used for promoting calm, aiding in relaxation, stress reduction, and enhancing meditation or yoga practices. Additionally, it’s believed to attract positive energy and good fortune, and acts as a natural insect repellent.
Sustainability:
All our Palo Santo products have been traditionally, legally and ethically gathered and harvested from Northern Peru. Traditionally a Palo Santo tree lasts for around 80 years and the wood is only used once the tree has been dead for 4-10 years (when the tree is alive, the scent is completely devoid in the wood). It is only once the wood has been untouched where it has grown that it will then create its exceptional properties. All trees that have been used are harvested through a sustainable and natural process.
These Palo Santo wood sticks have been 100% sustainably harvested, without causing any damage to live trees. They have been obtained from naturally fallen trees in the forests of Peru, Certified by the National Forest Service and Wildlife of Peru (SERFOR).
How to Use:
- Hold one end of the Palo Santo stick at a 45-degree angle.
- Light the tip with a match or lighter.
- Allow the flame to burn for about 20-30 seconds to a minute.
- Gently blow out the flame. The stick should now be smoldering, producing a fragrant, wispy smoke.
- Palo Santo often extinguishes on its own after a few minutes. If it’s still smoldering when you’re done, gently press the lit tip into your fireproof dish or a bit of sand until it’s completely out. Never leave a burning stick unattended. Palo Santo can be re-lit and reused multiple times.
