Labradorite first came from Paul’s Island near the town of Nain in Labrador, Canada hence its name of Labradorite.
Labradorite displays an iridescent optical effect known as labradorescence. The Inuit people believe that labradorescence came from the Aurora Borealis ( The Northern Lights) and is a Stone of Magic.
