Shungite is a black, lustrous, non-crystalline mineraloid consisting of more than 98 weight percent of carbon and is approx. 2 billion years old.
Shungite has been reported to contain trace amounts of Buckminster Fullerenes (C60) (buckyballs) (0.0001 < 0.001%). Fullerenes are carbon molecules that have formed into hollow, globular molecules.
