Aquamarine is a beautiful blue Beryl.
The name Beryl is derived from Greek βήρυλλος Beryllos which referred to a “precious blue-green colour-of-sea-water stone”.
The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that aquamarine would protect against any dangers while travelling at sea.
They would carry small stones of Aquamarine to throw overboard in a storm as a sacrifice to Poseidon and Neptune to placate the storm.
They also believed that it provided energy and could cure laziness.
Aquamarine is a “Stone of Courage and Protection”.
Used often with the Throat Chakra it can be used to promote verbal self-expression.
It is often used to enhance spiritual communication and clear communication blocks.
